ワシントン大学 (セントルイス)は、イリノイ州のセントルイスに位置する私立総合大学です。西海岸シアトルにワシントン大学という西海岸で最古の州立大学が存在し、 そちらと混同される方が多いですが、こちらはイリノイ州のセントルイスにある私立大学です。これら2校に繋がりはありません。 規模に関してもシアトルのワシントン大学は4万5千人以上の学生を抱える全米屈指の大規模校なのに対して、ワシントン大学 (セントルイス)約1万3千人と小～中規模校となります。

学校名の由来も米国初代大統領のジョージ・ワシントンから来ており、ワシントン州シアトルにあるワシントン大学とは大きく異なります。

有名な専攻は主に医学、社会福祉学、建築学などですが、日本人留学生のほとんどはOlin Business Schoolで開講されているMBAコースに通っているのが現状です。
